KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has remained steadfast in advocating for the independence of the judiciary, even though he has once been as a victim of a politically influenced judicial system, said Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, political secretary to the finance minister.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1 — The Malaysian Bar has renewed its call for amendments to the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) Act 2009, where the review of provisions on the representation of the stakeholders should be done by legal practitioners and the Attorney General, and that eminent persons under section 5 of the JAC Act be selected through a set of criteria suitable for Malaysians across divides, for the good of the Judiciary and our country.
